Craigslist Find: Amazing Rosewood magazine table - $95

Mid century danish rosewood furnishings are high on my list of favorite things. And this table is SO extremely striking and eye catching! I so desperately want to put this in our living room but the reality is it won't mix well at all with clawed felines who would LOVE to lay in the magazine sling and I don't have the heart to allow our kitties to damage such a gorgeous piece of furniture. You can see the ad here, this piece is for sale in Tucson but the seller is willing to travel! It's not a terrible drive, either...we made it last year for a danish wall unit :)

Craigslist Find: SO Big!

Sometimes you see things that pull you immediately back to your childhood and this figurine, for me, was one of those things. We had a Big Boy restaurant in my hometown that went out of business in the late 80's or early 90's that had one of those great, HUGE, rotating Big Boy's. Now, this is in Northern Wisconsin so you can imagine that most things about the city were not very flashy. This was THE THING to see for my brother and I. We would BEG to go to Big Boy or even just to drive by to see him way up in the sky. My brother and I would spend hours discussing how we think they got him all the way to the top of the sign. Sigh...those were the days. I'm thankful for this bit of nostalgia today! You can check the ad out here.

For Sale by MoPho: Garrison China Hutch / Display Cabinet - SOLD

This cabinet just screams atomic era! It was made by Garrison Furniture company and is designed to be used as a china cabinet with two grooves that run along the two upper glass cabinets for dishes to sit in, and a felt divider drawer for all of your utensils! It also makes a great display cabinet for all of your vintage knick-knacks or place to display all of your books! The measurements are: 68" tall, 48" wide, 9" depth at the top of the cabinet which tapers to 14" at the bottom of the upper glass cabinet and 15" depth for the lower closed cabinet. The lower cabinet has 4 doors that open to display a two shelve storage cabinet with the top shelf being set back slightly to allow storage of tall items. I love the spindles underneath the glass cabinet, the shape of the door openings, and the tapered legs with gorgeous detail at the base of the unit. The piece is in good vintage condition, there are some superficial scratches on the doors and the side of the piece, the main defect is a 1/2 inch depression on the top of the lower cabinet that would be visible to the discerning eye. There is a small chip on the side of the glass where it meets the other handle which would not be noticeable other than to a careful inspection (which I did as I wanted to list an honest assessment of current condition!), but otherwise the glass is in perfect shape. The top of the dresser is not stained and is a lighter color, you will not notice this unless you place it in a room where people will look down on the hutch or you are over 7 feet tall :)

*Only the cabinet is for sale, I am not selling any of the items on display in the photos!*

Craigslist Find: Mid Century Chrome floor lamp - $45

I was tempted by this cool Chrome floor lamp - but I could sense some hesitation in my partner in crime so I think we're going to pass. I walked the house a bit last night to find a place this would fit in and really couldn't find one. I would love to put something next to our Kent Coffey credenza in our living room but the arc lamp we have in that room has a gold arm and the clash of the metals would just not be pretty! You can see the ad here.

FYI, I found the same lamp at a MCM store in Illinois selling for $95!

Craigslist Find: Adrian Pearsall living room set

Warning: If you LOVE Adrian Pearsall, this may crush you or make you totally green with envy as it did me, but I found this amazing mid century modern living room set on Craigslist for $450 last night.

The set includes:
Two "Jack" end tables
Another end table
Coffee table
Gondola sofa
Two chairs
Three lamps that may or may not be mid-century

I decided to email instead of call as it was late, we tried calling this AM but were too late. I guess we're not getting a new living room set after all, but some lucky person is! Next time I will definitely call right away.

That all being said, Adrian Pearsall's family have created a website to catalog his designs, it's a really lovely site and is definitely worth checking out! Adrian Pearsall website

For Sale by MoPho: Mid Century Lane End Table - SOLD

We found this great Lane end table at an estate sale today and this piece won't fit well in our living room so we are going to find it a new owner! It's a great Bi-level end table by Lane, solid wood and fairly heavy (~20 lbs). It's in great vintage condition with the most noticeable element of wear being a darker scratch on the main table that extends about 2 inches. It is absolutely gorgeous and will look great in any mid century modern home :)

*Chrome laurel lamp and onyx owls not included!*
