For Sale by MoPho: Ceramic Base Orb Desk/ Table Lamp - $30

This gorgeous vintage mid-century lamp will look great with any decor with its ivory base and white globe! It would work great on a desk or end table, also great as an accent lamp in a bookcase or on a credenza. The retro lamp is in great working condition, there is a chip/ stable crack on the side of the piece as seen in photos below. If we were keeping the lamp I would probably cover it up with a ribbon but that's just me. The cord has a switch about 8 inches from the base of the lamp. The lamp uses a standard 40 watt light bulb (light bulb included!)

The lamp is 11 inches tall, 4 inches diameter at the base, and the globe is 6 inches in diameter.

For Sale by MoPho: Brass Globe Floor Lamp - SOLD

This incredible retro lamp is in great working condition and will look stunning in your home. The lamp is all brass and has a brown metal base with a step control so you can adjust the lamp's settings with your foot - that is mid-century modern ingenuity for you :) The bulbs spiral up - the look is quite dramatic and would look great with a more hollywood regency style as well. The lamp has three settings as pictured below and is in excellent vintage condition - as you can see it all works! It puts off a lot of light and at top settings could light a whole room!

The lamp is 5 feet tall, the lowest bulb is at 3 feet tall. It is 1 foot in diameter.

Our New Pride and Joy - the Broyhill Brasilia Room Divider!!

We had an Ikea Expedit room divider in our Arizona room in an attempt to provide some privacy to the rare overflow guest that cannot fit in our guest bedroom and to make the room feel more cozy.  The day we installed the Ikea piece I told my husband that my dream would be to put a Brasilia room divider in that place but that I knew we couldn't afford it.

I spend some time every day looking at future estate sales to plan out which to take the time to attend.  One day I was looking at photos for a sale that was about a month away and saw a photograph of a Broyhill Brasilia Room Divider and just about couldn't believe my eyes.  I squealed and jumped.  Then I called the estate sale company to see if they ever sell items prior to sales (they don't), and to see how soon they thought I should arrive to ensure I acquired what I wanted.  And then I planned.

For Sale by MoPho: Henredon Heritage Nesting Tables - $200

We found these gorgeous Mid Century Modern end tables looking a bit rough around the edges! We lovingly refinished these gorgeous tables with a lovely dark walnut stain and three coats of semi-gloss polyurethane and now they really shine and stand out and will look great in your home! The design is great, the smaller tables slide right under the next size up for storage, and allow you to place a side table where you really need it! The tables are in great vintage-refinished condition at this point, they do still retain a few small dings expected for their age that do not distract from their beauty, the finish will hold up for years to come on these sturdy tables!

The measurements are as follows: Large table - 25"x21.5" top and 22"tall, Medium table - 17.5"x22.75" top and 21" tall, Small table - 13.5"x 20" and 20" tall.

For Sale by MoPho: Surfboard Coffee Table - Just Kidding!

Surfboard Coffee tables are oh-so-necessary for mid-century modern decor and this one is quite impressive! It is gorgeous - it has a nice teak stain around the borders with a walnut veneer in the center so matches really well with both teak and walnut furniture. I believe that the wood is either pecan or oak...I'm not really sure, though. It's definitely very solid, whatever it is! The table is in great vintage condition, the only noticeable defects are a few scratches that have darkened over the years on one side of the top. It's not distracting and just gives it some mid century character!

This massive coffee table measures 6' long, 18" wide at its widest, and 13.5" tall.

Addendum: After using this table for a week and having it in the room, we decided it would be a crime to sell it as it's the exact length and color of our danish daybed and seems to be the right piece to have in that room for placing things on as we don't really have a good space for end tables in there.

For Sale by MoPho: Kent Coffey Wall/ Dresser mirror - SOLD

This gorgeous mirror is in excellent vintage condition and is a must for your mid century modern or danish modern home! It's not got any noticeable defects. It is ready to attach to a credenza (minus the metal bars) with metal brackets on the base, or ready to hang on the wall with eye hooks. It does not bear a maker's mark but has the exact stamp that the Kent Coffey "The Tableau" dresser we have has and was purchased as a set. It would look great with all of your walnut/teak furniture, though!

Measurements are: 44.5" tall, 27" wide, 2" off the wall

For Sale by MoPho: Kent Coffey "The Tableau" Dresser - SOLD

This is the amazing dresser you have been looking for to furnish your mid-century modern / danish modern home! This great walnut dresser is from the 1960's and has really cool brass handles on its five spacious dove-tailed drawers. It's got great club legs and is very sturdy. It is masculine and definitely modern looking, it would be great for a man's chest of drawers! The vintage piece is in great condition, the only defect is a small 1" x 1/2" chip in the veneer in the right bottom back of the dresser which wouldn't be noticeable in almost any situation as it's so near the bottom and back!

The measurements are: 40" wide, 46.5" tall, 17.5" deep for the top two drawers, and 19" deep for the bottom three drawers.

Phoenix Finds at Lizabel's Treasures - Hans Olsen dining set and Mid Century Modern China Cabinet

Lizabel's Treasures is a lovely little antique shop that is near my work - located at 3060 N 16th St in Phoenix (and next to the Middle Eastern Bakery which makes the best falafel in Phoenix!), I like to go in and wander around from time to time as they do usually have a few mid century modern pieces (usually tucked in the back!), and when they do they are usually quite reasonably priced.

I was wandering around the shop yesterday after work and thought I'd share a few of the mid century pieces I stumbled upon!

1) Hans Olsen Dining set - priced at $199 yesterday. My husband has been OBSESSED with having a Hans Olsen dining set since we saw one at Go Kat Go a while back, the practicality of the chairs actually fitting into the table for our smaller eat in kitchen is just too much for him. I was about to buy this yesterday, but noticed in an area the the paint is chipping that before this table was painted it was likely one that is covered in white melamine which is a great look with white covered seats. We love restoring these abused pieces back to their original glory but the table would likely need a new white laminate which is more than we would want to put into it as it's above our capabilities! That being said, fully restored these pieces go for upwards of $1500 so if someone wants to stick a little extra money in it and sell it online they should see the return :)

2) Mid Century Modern China Cabinet with lighted hutch - priced at $199 yesterday. This super cool piece is reminiscent of Broyhill Brasilia and Kent Coffey's Perspecta line but I could not see an obvious maker's mark. It is definitely not Brasilia as their china cabinets look much different, and I don't believe it's Perspecta either. It's definitely large and cool, though! I love the round windows on the side of the piece. The base has a curve on the sides that isn't terribly visible in my awesome iPhone photos, the sides open up with shelves and the middle opens up to three drawers. This piece is awesome but REEKS of smoke! There are a variety of guides online about how to remove smoke smell from furniture, it would be worth a shot for someone who is willing to take the time, but it's not for us :)

For Sale by MoPho: Wood lamp - SOLD

My husband bought me this retro, mid century modern lamp for my birthday this year but it just doesn't match my office and we couldn't find another place in the house to place it so are hoping someone will find it perfect for their home! The base and top are painted black, the middle part is a walnut or mahogany wood I believe. We have tested the lamp and it is in good working condition. There was not a lamp shade with the lamp, but I am happy to recommend a store to pick one out to match your decor :)

The base measures 6" in diameter, and 18" tall. The lamp is in good vintage condition, there are some chips in the base which have been covered (see photos) and the top is a bit warped (see photo), that would be easily covered with a lamp shade, though!

**For out of town customers - this is an item that we would consider shipping, if you are interested please comment below!**

For Sale by MoPho: Bassett Tallboy - SOLD

This four drawer dresser is just lovely and super atomic and retro looking! It is a great walnut color and has its original drawer pulls. It will look great in a mid century modern or danish modern home!! It does bear its cute makers mark - Bassett Furniture Industries, Inc. It has super classy club legs as well so is very easy to clean under. The piece is very well made like most pieces from the 1960's and has dovetailed, sturdy drawers.

The piece measures 34" wide, 17 3/4" deep, and 43" tall. The drawers measure 31.5" wide and 13.5" deep.

The dresser is in good vintage condition, there are a few small chips in the veneer near the drawers and on the side of the piece.

We do have a matching lowboy credenza with mirror listed, we would be happy to sell them together for $200.

For Sale by MoPho: Bassett Lowboy Credenza with Mirror - SOLD

This great vintage, retro nine drawer credenza has an awesome half circle design on the upper three drawers that make it so unique - it will look great in your danish modern or mid century modern home. It's a lovely walnut color and has its original drawer pulls and cute club legs! The pictured mirror is included. It would be great in a kids room as the drawers are a perfect size for smaller clothes and it's a very sturdy wide piece! Of course it has great dove-tailed drawers and was very well made as were most pieces of its era! We believe it is from the 1960's or 1970's.

The credenza measures 5 feet wide, 17 3/4 inches deep, 30 1/4 inches tall. The drawers are 17.5" x 13.5". The mirror measures 25" wide x 41 1/4 " tall.

This piece is in good vintage condition. There are a few chips in the veneer along the edges of the side - they have been stained with walnut stain so as to blend in better, you will only notice on close inspection. There are also a few areas of wear near the drawers that are visible to close inspection. The surface of the top has some very superficial scratches consistent with age. There is not a makers mark on this piece, but we have a matching piece that does have one, and bears the same stamp on the back of the piece.

We do have a matching chest of drawers for sale as well, we would be happy to sell both pieces for $200 if someone is interested in both!

Craigslist Finds: Chrome Table Lamp with Five Glass Orbs and Danish Modern Daybed!

We bought this amazing table lamp today and are CRAZY over it.  Especially the reasonable price of $120!  It looks great in our living room on top of our Kent Coffey Perspecta Credenza, we moved the arc lamp we previously had next to the couch to our Arizona room because we just got a Danish Modern Daybed for $280!  We plan to have it reupholstered but luckily it's just three cushions so should be pretty easy.  I love being able to furnish our home with authentic Mid Century Modern pieces for a reasonable price.  We have definitely had to wait for the right things to come along but are very proud of the collection we now have!

For Sale by MoPho: Geometric / Brualist Lane Credenza - SOLD

This cool vintage credenza will definitely be noticed! I love it's retro geometric look, it's very atomic and will look great in a mid century modern / danish modern home. It is from the 1960's or 1970's. It would work best in a living area, but could be used in a bedroom as well. At 2 feet tall, it is the perfect size and shape for a TV stand as it's fairly low to the ground - it would be great with a flat screen TV on the top! On the left there is a door that opens to cabinet with a small shelf - it would work nicely with a video gaming system like the Wii! There are two dovetailed drawers in the offset center of the piece, they would fit clothes well, but are also a great size for DVD's/Blu-Ray's, or CD's. On the right is a smaller cabinet that was originally designed for records with a smaller partition in the middle. The drawer handles are large copper colored metal circles.

The dimensions of the piece are 66" long, 18" deep, 24" tall.

The credenza is in good vintage condition. There are some superficial scratches to the top of piece which are consistent with age. There are a few small chips in the veneer along the edges which are noticeable on close inspection. There is one thicker gauge on the front left block that will be noticeable when standing about one foot away from the piece at the level of the scratch, below this scratch the veneer is brittle. Overall, the defects are not noticeable except on closer inspection.

More photos after the jump!

For Sale by MoPho: Broyhill Brasilia Single Arch Mirror (just kidding)

Update: We decided to keep the single arch mirror to replace the non-mid century one in the Brasilia office. We tried to sell it...we really did ;-)

These mirrors are hard to come by so if you've been looking for one to go with your Brasilia credenza/dresser, look no further! This is part of Broyhill's very popular mid century modern Brasilia line, and bears the very sexy curves that this line is known for. I must admit, like most people who love mid century modern design and vintage / retro furnishings, we love this mirror and the brasilia line and are hesitant to part with the mirror, but we could use the money right now! The mirror is solid wood and heavy, it is in great vintage condition - there is some minor wear on the top where the finish has worn off a bit (please see photos), but this won't be noticeable if you hang the top above eye level. The rest of the mirror is in like new condition. It measures 42" tall x 21.25" wide.

The back of the piece bears the numbers that are clearly visible on the photo below and a stamp that is not as visible in the photo but states, "Design copyrighted 1962, Broyhill Furniture Factories, Lenoir North Carolina." The mirror would look great in any home, but especially those with furniture from the 1950's, 1960's, or 1970's - and anyone who appreciates atomic furnishings with great curves!

We have a new Broyhill Brasilia Desk! Sorry, we're keeping this piece...

Proof that it pays to search Craigslist for more general terms, we got a great condition Brasilia desk this weekend for $60!  Part of my usual search includes the term "Broyhill" on the off chance that someone will post a Brasilia item not knowing what it is but seeing the Broyhill makers mark.  Most of the time that is not the case and I was just about to give up on the search term.  This weekend I was scrolling through and saw a desk that looked kind of mid century on the small photo.  I had definitely searched the term the night before and scrolled right past it as it didn't jump out.  I clicked on the ad and saw the handles and just about had a conniption - a Broyhill Brasilia desk listed for $40!  I emailed it to my husband who happened to be looking for something smaller to replace a HUGE teak table he had been using for a desk, and he called immediately figuring someone else had snatched it up...but we got it!

He's all moved in now and I'm SO jealous of his amazing new desk!!  It's an absolutely beautiful example of mid century craftsmanship and style.  Who doesn't love Brasilia, though?
