Phoenix Finds at Lizabel's Treasures - Hans Olsen dining set and Mid Century Modern China Cabinet

Lizabel's Treasures is a lovely little antique shop that is near my work - located at 3060 N 16th St in Phoenix (and next to the Middle Eastern Bakery which makes the best falafel in Phoenix!), I like to go in and wander around from time to time as they do usually have a few mid century modern pieces (usually tucked in the back!), and when they do they are usually quite reasonably priced.

I was wandering around the shop yesterday after work and thought I'd share a few of the mid century pieces I stumbled upon!

1) Hans Olsen Dining set - priced at $199 yesterday. My husband has been OBSESSED with having a Hans Olsen dining set since we saw one at Go Kat Go a while back, the practicality of the chairs actually fitting into the table for our smaller eat in kitchen is just too much for him. I was about to buy this yesterday, but noticed in an area the the paint is chipping that before this table was painted it was likely one that is covered in white melamine which is a great look with white covered seats. We love restoring these abused pieces back to their original glory but the table would likely need a new white laminate which is more than we would want to put into it as it's above our capabilities! That being said, fully restored these pieces go for upwards of $1500 so if someone wants to stick a little extra money in it and sell it online they should see the return :)

2) Mid Century Modern China Cabinet with lighted hutch - priced at $199 yesterday. This super cool piece is reminiscent of Broyhill Brasilia and Kent Coffey's Perspecta line but I could not see an obvious maker's mark. It is definitely not Brasilia as their china cabinets look much different, and I don't believe it's Perspecta either. It's definitely large and cool, though! I love the round windows on the side of the piece. The base has a curve on the sides that isn't terribly visible in my awesome iPhone photos, the sides open up with shelves and the middle opens up to three drawers. This piece is awesome but REEKS of smoke! There are a variety of guides online about how to remove smoke smell from furniture, it would be worth a shot for someone who is willing to take the time, but it's not for us :)

  1. They are awesome! I'm sure Lizabel's didn't have trouble finding a new home for it :)
